the mental bandwidth problem 2
(what's written here isn't meant to look good or be digested by other people, these are some thoughts)
emotions and working memory
an overloaded working memory may not be the only reason you don't get the results that you want.
but it may simply be that you're giving your advice to others because you're living your life and applying your concepts.
so it may not be an overloaded mind the problem you want to fix, but rather, taking actions and putting things into motion is what you need.
rumination and working memory
rumination lowers my functional IQ, because it throttles my working memory.
rumination when you aren't working doesn't matter that much, since you aren't working and wouldn't need that higher functional IQ.
BUT rumination when you aren't working can bleed into the next task and the task after and so on and mess you up in that way
other than that I don't think I need to think about this any further for now.
motivation
what's the deal with motivation? do i need motivation to work or is that the wrong question?
motivation doesn't matter if urgency isn't a rule. then in that case as long as my actions are aligned (making aligned progress towards an objective), whether i take a lot of action or very little in whatever time-frame doesn't matter.
and urgency isn't priority during this test for now.
so do i need to pressure myself to take action? no
is there anything wrong if i don't do anything for a long time? no
if i get bored and decide to do something aligned is that fine? yes
should i kick newman out of my house? maybe.
